Dates: 28 September – 08 October 2017
Venue: Palmse, Estonia
Organizer NGO: Youth Senate Tallinn
Project Description
Nowadays young people tend to forget their cultural backgrounds due to the pace of progress in the last decades. Experience in the youth sector and project management have shown that unfortunately, it is very rare when newcomers to such international projects have solid knowledge about other cultures, usually, its limit lays within the stereotypes, rather than aspects of culture.
“Let’s get cultured” is a youth exchange that connected young people from 8 European countries (Estonia, Macedonia, Spain, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Turkey, and Lithuania) to explore traditional cultures and celebrate diversity of cultures in Europe. The working schedule of the youth exchange consisted of various practical and active workshops devoted to dances, national stories/legends/fairytales, traditional games and music, traditions of important celebrations like Christmas, Easter, wedding and cuisine.
You can see the video of the project prepared by participants briefly explaining what they have done for these 9 days in Estonia.
The project was organized by Youth Senate Tallinn and funded by Estonian National Agency.
